Brownsburg Older Adult Alliance, Inc. (BOAA) is a 501(c)3 organization which was founded in 2015 by five women who joined together to enhance the lives of older adults in Brownsburg and its surrounding areas. Their first project was to contact local churches for names of seniors to receive small gift bags of personal care items, gloves, hats and blankets for winter. More than 40 gift bags were distributed that first year and the “Holiday Drive" continues to grow each year.
The group then decided to create a formal organization which was incorporated in 2016 and received their 501(c)3 designation in February 2017.
BOAA’s programs and services continue to grow. Their offices and programs are now housed at 554 Pit Rd. in a space donated by Well.Community Church. BOAA provides a resource line for seniors in need of information or services. More than 10 Activities are provided monthly for seniors, a quarterly education series focuses on senior issues, and a monthly caregiver support group has been organized as well as an educational series on aging. BOAA also provides services for seniors in their home include the Fall Leaf Cleanup and Spring Garden Cleanup.
